A Mondaine watch isn’t made for seasons, it’s made for years.
With timeless design built in from the start, our original Mondaine Swiss Railways clock design dates back to 1944 and remains a classic.
Before sustainability had a name, we built it in. In 1973, we designed the first analog solar watches to prevent unnecessary and costly battery replacements.
And to ensure a second life for your watch, we’ll take it back (and not just our own) and break it down to recycle and upcycle the materials.

Time is a luxury that belongs to everyone, and responsibility starts long before a watch reaches your wrist. From how we choose materials, to the standards we require from our suppliers, we care.
At our factory, we installed a photovoltaic solar system in 2019 which covers up to 80% of our energy needs. The rest is supplied by a hydroelectric power plant. We then remove unavoidable CO2 emissions from our carbon footprint by supporting reforestation projects.
This is how we are protecting our environment now.

We’re investing in what comes next, without compromising performance or design.
We’ve pioneered next-generation materials, from grape waste straps leftover from the wine industry to recycled, natural and biodegradable textiles, cork linings, and plant-based compounds.
And our cases include up to 91% recycled stainless steel, chosen for strength, durability and lower material impact.
We hate waste that comes with excessive packaging, which is why we’ve designed our watch sleeves to be reusable, and have reduced our packaging volume by 50%. Even the ink and adhesives we use are non-toxic, and ribbon is made from recycled plastic bottles.
