I’m Lara, a designer based in Zürich and the founder of KAHU, where I create handcrafted dog accessories that combine durability with a strong sense of design. What began at my kitchen table while navigating everyday life with my dog Ace grew into a brand rooted in functionality, material quality, and personal expression. My work is shaped by daily routines, where practical objects are rethought to feel both useful and considered.
Design-wise, what first struck you about the Doppio watch?
What struck me first was the clarity. Nothing felt unnecessary and every detail seemed intentional. As someone who works with design objects, I always notice when something feels balanced without trying too hard.
Does the Doppio’s 'form follows function' philosophy reflect your own approach?
That idea resonates a lot with how I work. When you design something that people use every single day, the function has to come first. The beauty comes from getting that simplicity right.
Do you juggle function and form in your process?
Yes, constantly. I’m always balancing durability and elegance, because dog accessories have to survive mud, water and daily wear. The challenge is making something that performs well but still looks beautiful.
