Designed to Last
Swiss engineer and designer Hans Hilfiker believed that great design should be understood instantly.
Designed for busy railway platforms, the Official Swiss Railways Clock enabled passengers and railway staff to read the time at a glance. Every proportion, marker and hand had a purpose. Nothing was added without reason.
More than eight decades later, those same design principles continue to define every MONDAINE watch.
One Red Hand
The red second hand is more than a design signature.
Inspired by the dispatcher's signalling paddle once used on Swiss railway platforms, it became a symbol of precision, attention and perfect timing.

From Platform to Wrist
In 1986, MONDAINE introduced the first Official Swiss Railways wristwatch under licence from the Swiss Federal Railways.
Rather than redesign the original, we preserved what made it exceptional: its clean geometry, intuitive readability and unmistakable character.
A public clock became a personal companion, bringing one of Switzerland's most iconic designs to the wrist.
